Just Jewels awards "Will you marry me?" contest winners

Just Jewels awarded the best wedding proposal story entrant Miguel Carlos and Emily Cu together with the other finalists on December 16, 2010. The finalists were: Ronalee Christi Lacsamana, Zheryl Rannie Parcon, Mary Tan, Mila Grace Yap, and Jean Marie Sablay. They received P5,000 cash and P3,000 worth of Just Jewels gift certificates each. Grand prize winners Miguel Carlos and Emily Cu were given their chosen designer wedding ring, P10, 000 cash, 3d/2n stay in Le Soleil de Boracay with air fare, and P5,000 worth of Just Jewels gift certificates.

During the awarding, Miguel personally shared his wedding proposal story.

It was their second year anniversary and he thought that it was the perfect time to propose. They went on a vacation in Calauit Island where zebras abound. Since Emily loves zebras, Miguel planned to do his proposal on the island. He coordinated with the tour guide for his plan and asked them to print a banner. Due to unwanted circumstances and bad weather, his plans were not easily executed. The banner had to be rushed and hand painted. On their way to Calauit the boat stopped and had a motor problem.

When they finally reached the island, he talked to the tour guide to prepare everything. He was trembling while repeatedly reciting in his mind his proposal lines.

"I want to be the one you sleep beside with every night and the one you wake up with every morning.
I want to be the one always challenging you in sungka, scrabble, and any other games kahit na palagi lang din akong matatalo. I want to be the one that will make you happy and the one you will love forever and ever."
After awhile when everything is set, he knelt down teary-eyed, pulled out the ring, and pointed at the banner that says "Emily, will you marry me?"

The couple is set to marry in February 2011 in Tagaytay.
